About Us
2017 A group of environmental scientists in Armenia was deeply concerned about the problems of waste pits operating in Armenia. From the statistics of the State Service of the Republic of Armenia, it can be seen that in 2017 over 2500 tons of travertine waste was accumulated in the country during the year. The waste was simply dumped into a landfill, forming a thick layer of dust, which made it impossible to grow vegetation.
Laboratory studies and physico-chemical calculations showed that these wastes can be used to produce high-quality, environmentally friendly paint based on stone.
In 2019, two-year efforts were successful, and today BERD paints occupy a prominent place in the Armenian building materials market.
Water-dispersion paint based on acrylic BERD
The basis of the BERD paints is travertine stone and water, which ensures the economy of our product.
Our paints are produced using a new technology, which differs from traditional technologies in that it minimizes the use of bonding polymers, thereby making the paint more environmentally friendly. If the amount of polymers in traditional environmentally friendly paints is about 30%, then, thanks to new technologies, this percentage is less than 20. This suggests that it is more environmentally friendly.
In our paints, whitening elements (chalk, titanium dioxide, etc.) are completely absent, so the paint has the color of natural travertine and interacts very well with pigments, making it possible to obtain the most saturated colors except white. After drying, we get almost a stone surface and therefore the wall seems rough to the touch, which gives the wall a special textured effect.
Also, thanks to new technologies, we are able to maximize the grinding of the stone. The fine structure is better dispersed, which contributes to the durability of the paint at large temperature differences.
This quality is very convenient when using facade paints. The specific gravity of our paints is approximately 1l.-15, kg. This indicator provides a high coating rate of about 10-12 m2. One kilogram on the prepared surface.
Since the paint is completely natural, it does not cover plastic and metal surfaces (comes off). It is intended for walls and ceilings, as well as for wooden surfaces.
Since the paint is produced from travertine waste, it has a double environmental effect. On the one hand for the environment, and on the other for the consumer.
